My boys have really enjoyed this. It didn't come with all the directions. You need a smooth surface to ride on because it can tip over easily. Other than that they are having a blast, and coordination is the key.

I loved a toy like this when I was a kid. My sons are 10 and 12. Its hard for them to turn the wheels. All the neighborhood kids have to try it when they see it. My six year old neighbor, he's the speedster on it. Even my son's friend's older sister (13?) had to try it. For some reason, kids find it easier to go backwards than forwards. They will start on a sidewalk, then veer off into the grass going backwards, and they flip it over backwards, so tell the kids to be careful.

I remembered always wanting something like this when I was young so I purchased this for my nephews. I gave it to them for christmas and it was a big hit until they finally took it out in the driveway to play this spring. Apparently the boys are extremely aggressive with this thing and both have managed to hurt themselves. When trying to do a "burn out" they flipped it and apparently it does this alot when the terrain changes (like from blacktop to grass). It has been in the garage ever since. We stopped by this past weekend and my little girl played with it with no problems but she is also a little more cautious than my energetic nephews. I think we'll end up taking it home. Bottom line is the product is solid but it is hard to put together (might as well had no directions) and I recommend wrapping the exposed metal bars with hockey tape to protect things from getting marred when bumped and if your child likes to push the limits put a helmet on him and hope for the best.

This is a good product for working on motor planning and upper body strength. I use it for obstacle courses and races for my son.

the weight range max of 100 lbs is way off. my 11 year old grandson is 95 lbs and this item doesn't work because he is too heavy. the younger grand sons are lighter and enjoy playing with his birthday present. you need to drop the upper weight range on this item. not happy with this purchase even thought the younger ones are enjoying the toy.

We ordered this present for my grandson's 7th birthday. He has some difficulties with hyperactivity and loves to spin. This is the only spinning product I could find suitable for kids of his age and weight. We were not disappointed. It's a real challenge for him to figure out how to operate and control the Whirly Wheel, but he's having lots of fun with it at the same time. It also will help improve upper body strength, so it's great for kids with low muscle tone. He can use it in the garage on our frequent rainy days. Even younger brother(age 4) is making strides and enjoying it. The only complaint is that my handy son found it rather difficult to assemble.

The Deluxe Whirly Wheel is durable and stands up to rough play. We originally had the Krazy Kar but it didn't last too long due to the plastic parts; this one's made of metal and rubber and should last longer. It has tipped over a few times when the kids attempted to spin.
