I have been looking for a violin for my youngest daughter. Her 13 year old sister plays a real one and we wanted to inspire her own playing abilities. She loves to play with it. She is 6 years old but only 4 developmentally. The only problem was replacing the batteries after only a few days of playing with it. But I would recommend this to anyone who wants child friendly muscical instrument.

My son got this for his 3rd birthday and he and his 5 year old sister LOVE it. They have played with it daily for the past month and enjoy making their own music as well as the pre-programmed songs. They were especially excited that one of the songs is featured on the Little Einsteins. The first day he received it the bow got bent (perhaps it was being used as a sword) but they have since been more careful with it and have not had any problems. It is fun to see them holding the bow and violin correctly, sway to the rhythm of their own music and get excited about musical experiences. I am usually not a fan of electronic musical toys, but this one has been a big hit. The sound is rather pleasant, as far as musical, battery operated toys are concerned. I highly recommend it to the parents of kids who like making music.

I bought this for my son (almost 3 years old) and he loves it. I was surprised to see what a great quality this was at such a cheap price. My son (like a lot of little boys) is not very careful with his toys and bangs them around a lot and it's help up quite well.

There are programed songs and when you move the bow back and forth over the violin it plays a note for each stoke. Eventually the child begins to learn the songs and moves the bow according to how the song goes. This a great toy for play and also for memory and learning skills.

My 2-year-old daughter loves this violin! She asked Santa for a real one, with a bow, and was delighted to find this under the tree. I wish the packaging included all the titles of the songs it plays! Sound quality is wonderful!

Our kids have a ball with this toy - ages 3 and 5. The 3 year old thinks the bow is a sword - fine ... 5 year old would like to be Allison Kraus! Me, too!
