      This was for my 8 year old daughter. What we have found, is that you have to wait for the pig to stop talking completely before you insert a coin or it won't record the coin. You also have to press quite firmly to get the coins in. It frequently misreads the coin, ie. calling a penny a dime, etc. But, you can adjust the total - if you are old enough to know how. We had to replace the batteries that were included on the first day. Overall, she seems to enjoy it, and is happy with her gift.

      Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
