This sewing machine is really cute and comes with everything you need to get started on a sewing project. My daughter received this for her 6th birthday and it is just right for that age. I read the other reviews before I bought it and thought about getting her a better machine at Joanne's or somewhere...but after going to look at them they are just too overwhelming at this age. We had a friend sit down with her for a couple of hours and teach her the basics. Now it is just about practice! She loves her little machine and I love that it is all together in its own little, cute case!!

I got this as an xmas gift for my daughter and she loves it, but being the one to have to thread and "use" the machine, I have found it hard to use. Not sewing even, hard to thread..just not an easy toy for a kid to use. I bought a Janome starter at a local fabric store for [$] and there is NO comparison.

Lilly & her Dad used it recently to make hobby horses for the school "hoe-down." They have sewn several useful items for the household and have lots of creative fun together.
