            i must have misread the discription. i thought it was metal construction. got it early for my grandson's 6th birthday. he was so patient. we opened it upstairs in the hall and when i was taking it down stairs it dropped and fell down the stairs. no damage! i hope it holds up, he was so excited to get his "loader truck"! he picked it out from the catalog and didn't know i'd ordered it for him----but he was pretty sure from the big box. he loves it!!

                son loved it but within a week of playing with it, the part of the flatbed where the ramps snap on, they broke to where the ramps could not be put back on.

                  My five year old son is obsessed with road tractors and excavation equipment. This Bruder brand set is very detailed and he loves finding all the opening/moving parts and loading and unloading the equipment. It is mostly plastic but is very durable. We have since bought other toys from this brand.
