My children (ages 4 & 8) have had this toy for over two years and they still play with it. The only drawback is that it only comes with 5 vehicles, but I found more vehicles that matched the set (die cast with two of the same cars) at a national drug store chain. Now they have 25 vehicles and 5 planes and it makes the set even more enjoyable for them. Great to take along to family gatherings. It does take a little getting used to assembling it and putting it away, but my 8 yr old can do it easily after I taught him. We haven't had a single problem with it - it's worth every penny!

Purchased for our child at 3 years. Loved it and wanted to play with it often, but could not assemble alone. When it was together, the cars are so tiny they are hard to play with. We had trouble making all of the pieces fit back inside and closing at clean up. My child, who is still a BIG fan of fire engines, offered to donate this toy because it was so frustrating. We agreed as we did not feel the toy was worth keeping until he is older.

We bought this toy because it looked very similar to a toy my nephew (now 20 yrs old) still has and pulls out for my son to play with when we visit. Well, lets just say, they don't make them like they used to. This toy certainly won't be around for 20 years! While you'd think your kid could just open up the fire truck and play with the rescue set, its not like that at all, as you have to disassemble it to close it and then put it all back together to play with it. My 3 year old certainly won't be able to put it together. The bit where the car goes through the bill board doesn't work, as it doesn't really line up and the whole thing is just not that sturdy. If I'm going to spend [$] on a toy it should be sturdy at least! I did put it all together, and put all the stickers on (Beware: 1 hour to do so) and so I'll keep it. I know my son, being three, will think its cool.

my 2 grandsons (5 & 8) will play with this toy for hours - by themselves. I do not have to interact with them, they don't want me to. I have 2 of these so they can play on their own and use their imaginations.

I must specify that I have not actually seen this
in action yet because it was a gift for my 3year old cousin who is obsessed with all things automobile, but from what i have heard it was not to hard to put together and he has not put it down in about 2 weeks. apparently he made his parents put it together as soon as he saw it and has played with it everyday since!

Although the intial construction of this toy was tricky (I did it once before giving it as a gift...including putting on the huge amount of stickers), but after I knew how it worked, it wsn't too hard for my 4 year old son to figure it out. He loves this toy! He has spent many hours playing it with it. It was well worth the money...although the pieces aren't as sturdy as other toys, it has held up fine for us.
