I bought this for my daughter to give her a sewing machine like mine to sew with, but it's plastic, and it does not have a bobbin to do any real sewing, unlike the toys of the past that did. She can't do anything lasting because it sews with a straight stitch in the front and the back is held together by loops. It's also challenging to rethread as well. However, she does have a lot of fun with it, so in the end it was worth the purchase, especially when she gets to think she's sewing clothes like her mother does.
I say as rating, my real rating would be it's cute, but just be forewarned about what your uses with it are.

This toy is sooo cute. It looks just like an old Singer sewing machine. It is very challenging to use unfortunately. It is lightweight so it hard to push the fabric through the machine without the machine moving also. It runs a bit fast for easy use by younger children.
