I purchased this instrument for my three year old son who had been asking for a saxophone but did not want one that looked "babyish." He loves this saxophone. The only drawback is that the surface started to scratch shortly after he started using it. I would purchase it again.

In searching for things that my daughter may take an interest in later on in life, we think its better spending [$]rahter than [$]on a real sax. the sound is good, nice and colorful but it is a thin cheapish kind of plastic... but again, its only $15 and i guess a good toy to see if your child has any kind of interest in wanting to play a sax.

My son loves music and instruments. He loves this saxophone. It does not sound like a real saxophone because it is a toy. However, the sound is nice for a toy. It seems pretty durable so far. The silver finish can rub off where the child handles it most, but this requires much use and time to occur. It will not rub off immediately when handled normally. This is a great product for the price. If it were more expensive, then I would expect more. Buy it! You will not be sorry. It is a very attractive saxophone (same goes for the trumpet). Your child will love it.
